In the Big Ten West, Wisconsin and Iowa were picked one-two, and Saturday night's contest might be a deciding one in the division championship race. Jesse Temple of the Athletic discusses how Iowa's constructed a talented roster that includes a few notable former Wisconsin high school players.
Recruiting-wise, the Badgers do fairly well keeping in-state prospect home, but some of the starters for Iowa on Saturday are former Wisconsin high school standouts. Quarterback Nate Stanley, who played at Menomonie, is a legit NFL prospect, and lining up behind him is Toren Young, a former Monona Grove running back. Starting linebacker Kristian Welch is a former Iola-Scandinavia product as well, and there are nearly a dozen other former Wisconsin high school players on the roster.
