Player Interviews:
Freshman goalie Daniel Lebedeff of Finland made 32 saves, including 17 during 9 penalty kills during Wisconsin's 3-2 overtime loss at North Dakota last Saturday night. Lebedeff has put himself in position to be the number-one goalie and is expected to start Friday night when the Badgers open the B1G season against Minnesota at the Kohl Center.
Senior forward Will Johnson is off to a good start. He has 3 goals and 6 points in 8 games this season and scored the first goal of last Saturday's game at North Dakota, where the Badgers committed 11 penalties and eventually lost in overtime 3-2 despite 32 saves from freshman goalie Daniel Lebedeff.
