Garrett Groshek's high school experience as a quarterback has parlayed into a fundamental understanding of the Wisconsin Badgers's offense, which allows him to be a 'coach on the field' according to his peers.
Groshek, who has made Academic All-Big Ten two seasons in a row, has rushed for 722 yards and three touchdowns in relief of Jonathan Taylor, as well as 28 receptions (24 of them in 2018) for 203 yards and another touchdown.
In terms of his role, Groshek says that his past as a quarterback probably helped him learn things a little faster, and he enjoys helping out his teammates and coaches during the games and practices.
Here's Matt Lepay's conversation with Groshek.
