After first opening in the early 1900s and gaining popularity during the middle of the century, diners became a staple of the American landscape. The quick-stop restaurants are places hungry diners can visit and always ensure they will find a hot cup of coffee, indulgent breakfasts, classic lunches and filling dinners all without making a big dent in their wallet.

Taste of Home searched "coast to coast" to determine the best diner in each state, the beloved eateries serving up "good old-fashioned diner fare" that became a classic for a reason. According to the site, the best diner in all of Wisconsin is North Avenue Grill, a popular Wauwatosa New American diner has pretty much anything you could possibly want.

North Ave Grill is located at 7225 W. North Avenue.

Here's what Taste of Home had to say about Wisconsin's best diner:

"Just west of Milwaukee, you'll find North Avenue Grill, a new American diner that's always serving up something new. In addition to their standard menu full of everything from jalapeno popper burgers to wolf omelets (that's an omelet filled with plenty of meat and cheese) to amazing fish frys. But the best dish at this diner might just be one of their specials like Valentine's Day red velvet pancakes or St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charms shakes."
