Life's too short not to splurge on an expensive meal every now and again, whether for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary or simply to just treat yourself to an extravagant meal with exceptional service.

Using user reviews, awards and accolades, and first-hand experience, LoveFood compiled a list of the the "most expensive" place to dine in every state, the eateries that are "genuinely worth a blowout" price tag for the service, atmosphere and food you get in exchange.

According to the site, the most expensive restaurant in all of Wisconsin is Carnevor in Milwaukee, which has steak selections well above $100. Carnevor is located at 718 N. Milwaukee Street.

Here's what LoveFood had to say about this pricey establishment:

"There's steak, and then there's steak. Carnevor serves the latter, and diners pay top dollar for it. The priciest on the menu is, unsurprisingly, the Japanese wagyu A5 filet mignon, at a vertiginous $168. And that's before you've added sides, sauces, and luxurious toppings like foie gras or king crab. You can also order a dry-aged rib-eye that's big enough to share for $130."
